WOW! What a show! Congratulations to all students in both solos and groups who graced the stage at both Sydney and Dubbo Eisteddfod over the past three weeks! You were all fantastic!
We wished our senior soloists the best of luck for long four days of competition against visiting and local dancers. So many soloists featured at this year’s local Dubbo Eisteddfod with some fantastic results! Extra special congratulations to Ashleigh Chandler receiving The Canalese Perpetual Trophy – awarded for Artistic Movement and Presentation!!!
Week 8 was one of the busiest weeks in DBS history! Not only was it DBS Week, the best week of the year according to most students but our Open Team also travelled to Sydney on the Friday to compete at Sydney Eisteddfod with their Classical on the Saturday and their Contemporary, Entertainment and Jazz on the Sunday! The Opens came home with amazing results. They received a Highly Commended for both their Contemporary and Jazz and an amazing 1st PLACE with their Entertainment! A huge congratulations Force17!
All while that was happening, our Junior Performance Teams 12yrs and Under were back in Dubbo competing at the local Eisteddfod! The students had a fantastic day with some spectacular results! Congratulations to all our students who competed at the Junior Groups Weekend!
The 14yrs and Opens were next up to perform at the Senior Groups Weekend at Dubbo Eisteddfod. We had a spectacular day of entertainment from all DBS groups! A special mention to the Open Entertainment who won the Best Senior Group Trophy for their performance of ‘Too Darn Hot!’. It absolutely blew the roof off the theatre with cheers like we’ve never heard before! Congratulations to all 14yrs and Open Students!
The eisteddfod train has dropped back a little now, but not for long as Wellington and Orange Eisteddfod are just around the corner!
